This was the second time I visited Hitchin Lavender fields and it was just as beautiful as the time I went before; the company that i had was so much fun too. We left Watford at 1:40 pm and it took about 40 mins to get there. We arrived at just after 3:00 pm but, given it closed at 5, we had plenty of time.

The smell was amazing, such a distinctive scent that made us all sleepy. Also the colour was so vivid, so beautiful to the eye with the delightful purple and green. All that could be heard was the sound of buzzing from every angle from many bees collecting pollen and nectar to take home to the hive and turn into honey.

Entry was £6 but we were able to pick the lavender to take home for the house to smell as amazing as the fields were. On arrival, we were given a bag and a pair of scissors to cut the flowers. There was space at the top of the field where we decided to have a picnic with the food we brought. We settled down on the blanket we’d packed in the back of my car.

I had told the everyone that I wanted to do a photoshoot with them. Once we had picked some Lavender we started the shoot and the photos in this post are the outcome. The images were shot on the Nikon D750 with my 24-70 f2.8 lens. (Everyone took turns taking some photos too).
